Moxi 2.0

Moxi 2.0 is the machine that follows the largest fleet of mobile manipulators actually working in hospitals rather than in demonstrations. Diligent Robotics announced it in October 2025 and began rolling it out to hospital customers in the first half of 2026. The first Moxi had already run more than 1.25 million autonomous deliveries across over 25 US hospitals with a fleet of roughly 100 robots, fetching supplies, medications and lab samples so that nurses did not have to walk them - and the second generation is best understood as what the company learned from those three years put back into the hardware. The headline change is compute: CEO Andrea Thomaz puts Moxi 2.0 at ten times the processing power of its predecessor, following NVIDIA's Jetson line, with edge inference running on the Blackwell-based NVIDIA IGX Thor. That capacity feeds the more consequential change, a robot foundation model trained on the fleet's own operational history - 1.25 million real hospital deliveries, an asset no competitor in this niche has. In practice it shows up as anticipation rather than reaction: the robot predicts and pre-emptively steers around beds and wheelchairs instead of stopping in front of them, which in a corridor full of staff is the difference between a useful colleague and an obstacle. The rest of the redesign is unglamorous and telling - handles and service panels reworked from three years of deployment feedback, and a body designed for manufacturability so it can be built in volume. Ownership changed underneath the product. Serve Robotics announced on 20 January 2026 that it would acquire Diligent Robotics in an all-stock deal worth USD 29 million upfront plus up to USD 5.3 million in earn-outs, closing in the first quarter of 2026; Diligent continues as a Serve subsidiary under Andrea Thomaz, and the Moxi brand stays. Diligent targets 15 or more units per hospital site, doubling its hospital footprint each year and thousands of robots deployed by 2030, with an expansion into senior living through the AARP AgeTech Collaborative. The company publishes no dimensions, weight, payload, battery or speed figures for Moxi 2.0 and no price - the first Moxi keeps its own profile in this catalogue as the earlier generation.
