GPT-5.2 Pro shipped on 11 December 2025, the same day as GPT-5.2 itself, and follows the pattern OpenAI established with GPT-5 Pro: identical family, more compute spent per answer, a price that reflects it. The context window is 400,000 tokens with 128,000 on output, input is text and images, and the knowledge cutoff is 31 August 2025. Pricing is $21 per million input tokens and $168 per million output tokens, with no cached-input discount published — against $1.75 and $14 for base GPT-5.2, so exactly twelve times more per token on both sides. The model is offered through the Responses API rather than Chat Completions, because answers can take minutes and OpenAI recommends running them in background mode to avoid timeouts. GPT-5.4 Pro replaced it as the flagship high-compute option in March 2026 at $30 and $180, and GPT-5.5 Pro held that same price in April. GPT-5.2 Pro remains available with no announced shutdown date, and is now the cheapest way into the Pro tier.
