Grok Build 0.1 is the model behind Grok Build, xAI's terminal coding agent, released to the API in public beta on 29 May 2026. It is not meant to win benchmark tables: xAI sells it on latency, quoting more than 100 tokens per second, and prices it at a fraction of the flagship line. The company aims it at agentic coding — web development, debugging and MCP tool use — and it reached third-party editors (Cursor, OpenCode, Kilo Code, OpenRouter) on the same day. The 0.1 version number is xAI's own, and signals how early the model is.
