Muse Spark 1.1

Muse Spark 1.1, published on 9 July 2026, is the release that turned Meta's frontier model line into something developers outside the company could call. It arrived together with the public preview of the Meta Model API, packaged to be OpenAI-compatible so existing client code could be pointed at it with minimal change, and it powers the Thinking mode in the Meta AI app and on meta.ai. Meta positions it as a multimodal reasoning model built for agentic tasks. It takes images, video and PDFs as well as text, and it carries a context window of one million tokens — with the company stressing that the model actively manages that window rather than merely accepting inputs that fit inside it. Over the first Muse Spark, Meta claims gains in tool and computer use, in coding on real-world tasks and enterprise codebases, and in multimodal understanding, plus competitive results on its Meta Internal Coding Bench. Early API access went to Replit, Cline, Box and the OpenClaw Foundation. Meta did not disclose parameter count or architecture and did not release weights; this is a hosted, proprietary model. Four weeks later Meta shipped Muse Spark 1.2, a coding-focused update trained partly on data generated by this model.
