Dobot quietly grew its cobot range to ten arms — and the longest one is also the most precise

Dobot's CRA specification table listed seven collaborative arms in August 2025. It lists ten today. The three additions — CR6AL, CR16AL and CR30A — arrived without a launch announcement, and one of them quietly contradicts a rule this catalogue has watched hold at four other arm makers. The new CR6AL reaches 1,800 mm, further than any other arm Dobot sells and 100 mm beyond the 20 kg flagship. Reach normally costs precision: a longer lever amplifies every error at the joints. Yet Dobot rates the CR6AL at ±0.02 mm repeatability, the tightest figure in the whole family, while the CR7A — which reaches 800 mm, less than half as far — is rated at ±0.05 mm, two and a half times looser. Within a single manufacturer's own table, the longest arm is the most accurate and one of the shortest is the least. The payload numbers refuse to line up too. The CR6AL lifts 6 kg, less than the shorter CR7A's 7 kg. The CR5A reaches 900 mm while the stronger CR7A reaches 800 mm. And the new CR30A, the strongest arm Dobot has ever sold at 30 kg, covers a radius of 1,305 mm — 395 mm short of the 20 kg CR20A — at 4 m/s rather than 5.5 m/s. It is nonetheless three kilograms lighter than the CR20A and runs on the same 500 W supply, so the extra payload was bought with reach and speed, not with more metal. Dating the three arms took the Internet Archive and the web server. They are absent from a snapshot of 11 January 2026 and present on 19 July 2026; their product images carry a Last-Modified header of 20 March 2026, all three uploaded in the same second. This catalogue therefore dates them to 2026 and says in each profile that the year comes from snapshots rather than from a manufacturer's statement. Two inconsistencies in Dobot's published data are worth recording. The series table gives maximum linear speeds of 3 to 5.5 m/s, while the CR20A's own product page puts maximum tool-centre-point speed at 2,000 mm/s — a gap of nearly threefold with no explanation. And the ingress-protection row of the series table shows a repeatability value instead of an IP rating for the two largest models; the CR20A page states IP54 for arm and control box, which is the figure published here. Six of the ten arms now have profiles on wujec.ai: CR3A, CR5A, CR7A, CR6AL, CR20A and CR30A. The remaining four will follow.
