Flexiv's two small Rizon arms lost 40 mm of reach in the autumn of 2024 — and the Rizon 10's claimed touch got twice as coarse

Flexiv's Rizon series specification table was rewritten between 3 August and 9 October 2024, and none of the model names changed with it. On the earlier version of the page the Rizon 4 reached 916 mm and the Rizon 4s 959 mm; on the later one, and on the page as it stands today, they reach 876 mm and 919 mm. Both arms lost exactly 40 mm. In the same edit the Rizon 10's force sensing accuracy moved from 0.1 N to 0.2 N — a declaration made twice as coarse, on a machine sold on its sense of touch. Everything else in those columns stayed put: payload 4, 4 and 10 kg, arm weight 20, 21 and 38 kg, pose repeatability ±0.05 mm to ISO 9283, IP65, maximum tool force 200, 150 and 350 N. The Rizon 10's own reach, 941 mm, did not move either. The change was not announced. Flexiv's company timeline records product launches, awards, funding rounds and certifications, but carries nothing for the autumn of 2024 beyond the release of Flexiv Elements Series 3 in October. There is no note on the product page, and the arms are still sold under the same names, which means a datasheet printed in mid-2024 and one printed today describe the same robot with different numbers. Which set is right matters practically: 40 mm is roughly the difference between reaching the far corner of a work cell and not reaching it. The current table is the manufacturer's own, so this catalogue uses 876 mm and 919 mm — and the correction also explains a long-running disagreement, because several distributor listings still credit the Rizon 4 with 780 mm and the Rizon 10 with 1015 mm, matching neither version of the manufacturer's page. The same archived pages date one more thing Flexiv does not: the Rizon 10s, the fourth model in the family, first appears in the specification table between 14 June and 5 August 2025. It has no launch announcement and no entry on the company timeline.
