COBOT Magic is what happens when an academic robot becomes a catalogue item. Mobile ALOHA — the whole-body teleoperation and data-collection system published by Zipeng Fu, Tony Z. Zhao and Chelsea Finn at Stanford University — was released as an open design that any lab could rebuild. AgileX rebuilt it and put it on a shelf. The hardware follows the original recipe. Four custom six-axis lightweight arms work in two pairs: an operator moves the two leader arms by hand, and the two follower arms mirror those motions on the real task, so every demonstration is recorded as synchronised joint data. Three cameras watch the work — one on each wrist plus an Orbbec Dabai depth camera looking down from the top — which is the view the imitation-learning models are trained on. The whole assembly rides on an AgileX TRACER base, the same differential-drive indoor chassis the company sells separately, so the rig can follow a person around a room rather than being bolted to a bench. The maker's configuration drawing puts the frame at 1,074 mm long, 700 mm wide and 1,136 mm tall, with 154 mm of ground clearance, and marks the arms' working radii as R264 mm and R253 mm — these are short-reach arms built for tabletop-scale work, not for reaching across a room. Standard kit also includes a 12 V USB hub, a four-outlet power strip and the custom ALOHA stand; an inertial unit and an 11.6-inch 1080p display are listed as options. AgileX's own pitch is not novelty but economics: stronger arms and a more capable industrial computer than the reference build, at a lower cost, with the Mobile ALOHA codebase integrated out of the box and a simulation environment for training before the robot touches anything. The tasks shown are the ones the Stanford paper made famous — pouring, opening containers, watering plants, cooking a simple meal, tidying objects. What is still missing is a price and a mass: the product page routes buyers to a sales address, and the configuration sheet lists most components as "customized", which is the usual arrangement for a research rig ordered per project.
