RANGER AIR is the smallest omnidirectional platform AgileX sells and the clearest sign of where the company thinks its business is going. The older RANGER chassis were pitched at inspection, patrol and material handling; this one is pitched, in the maker's own words, at embodied AI, humanoid robots and mobile manipulation. In other words it is sold less as a robot than as a pair of legs for somebody else's upper body. Mechanically it follows the family recipe: each of the four wheels steers on its own drive, which gives zero-radius turning, sideways travel and precise path following in corridors and around obstacles that would defeat a car-steered chassis. The deck is a flat mounting surface with open interfaces, the software side is ROS and ROS 2, and the maker expects buyers to bolt on their own lidar, depth cameras, arms and compute module. Two features separate it from the older RANGER MINI. It docks and recharges itself, which is what makes unattended long-duration runs possible, and it ships with environmental perception and obstacle avoidance rather than leaving the whole autonomy stack to the buyer. AgileX shows it in three roles: delivery and material handling, robotics research, and as a self-charging mobile base for a humanoid torso. What a reader should know before getting interested is the same caveat that applies to the T-REX 2.0: the maker publishes no numbers. The product page carries three large counters for payload, runtime and speed, and all three sit at zero. There is no published mass, no dimensions, no battery capacity, no price, and no user manual in the download centre — which for the rest of the AgileX range is where the specification tables live. Everything above is what the maker claims the machine does, not what it is measured to do. The robot appeared in the maker's store at the end of July 2026, in the same batch as T-REX 2.0 and Modular ALOHA.
