A 67 kg four-wheel-drive research chassis that carries 50 kg, climbs 30-degree slopes and steps over 10 cm obstacles — sold as a base for other people to build robots on.
SCOUT 2.0 is not a finished robot. It is a drive-away chassis: four independently driven wheels, a flat deck with aluminium T-slot rails, a CAN bus and an open SDK — and nothing above the deck. Laboratories, integrators and security firms buy it to mount their own sensors, arms and computers on a platform whose mobility is already solved. The mobility is the product. Each wheel has its own 200 W brushless servo motor (the maker also states 4 × 400 W drive motors in the manual), and double-wishbone independent suspension front and rear lets the machine take 10 cm obstacles and 30-degree gradients without the payload deck pitching. Ground clearance is 135 mm, the body weighs 67 kg and carries 50 kg, and a 24 V 30 Ah lithium pack gives up to eight hours or roughly 15 km per charge, with a three-hour recharge. Steering is four-wheel differential, so the machine turns in place — useful indoors, where an Ackermann chassis such as the sister HUNTER needs a 1.6 m circle. A circulating cooling system, combining internal and external air paths, is the maker's answer to sustained work in high ambient temperatures. Control is deliberately low-level. There is an optional 2.4 GHz transmitter with about 100 m of range, and CAN interfaces for command control from a host computer. Autonomy, mapping and perception are the buyer's job; AgileX supplies the SDK and open-source resources, not a navigation stack. The machine is CE certified, rated IP22 and specified for −10 to 40 °C — outdoor-capable in fair weather, not a foul-weather vehicle. It anchors the maker's line-up as the four-wheel-drive option, alongside HUNTER for car-style steering, BUNKER for tracks, RANGER for omnidirectional movement and TRACER for indoor cart duty. One discrepancy worth flagging: the user manual lists maximum speed as „1.5 km/h”, while the maker's own product page gives the same figure in metres per second. 1.5 m/s (about 5.4 km/h) is consistent with the motor sizing and with the rest of the range, so the manual's unit appears to be a misprint.
