AgileX T-REX 2.0
AgileX Robotics · China · 2026
AgileX's first wheeled-legged platform: legs for stairs and rubble, wheels for speed, jumping on top — but the maker publishes no payload, runtime or speed figures.
T-REX 2.0 is the odd one out in the AgileX range. Every other chassis the company sells rolls: four wheels, tracks, Ackermann steering, omnidirectional pods. T-REX has legs with wheels at the end of them, which is a genuinely different bet — the wheels do the boring flat-ground travelling efficiently, and the legs take over when the ground stops being flat, absorbing steps, kerbs and loose surfaces that would stop a rolling chassis. The maker also demonstrates jumping, which no other machine in its catalogue does. The sensing and compute package is the modern research-platform standard: a 360-degree lidar, high-frame-rate binocular depth cameras and an NVIDIA Orin Nano industrial computer, running ROS 2. AgileX describes the result as centimetre-level mapping with autonomous obstacle avoidance, and positions the robot for three uses — robotics research and teaching, terrain mobility work, and camera work, since a machine that glides on wheels and absorbs bumps on legs makes a decent moving camera mount. The part a reader should know before getting interested: as of this writing the maker publishes no numbers at all. The product page has three prominent counters for payload, runtime and speed, and all three read zero — they are animated placeholders that were never filled in. There is no published mass, no dimensions, no battery capacity and no price; the page routes buyers to a sales address. No user manual for T-REX 2.0 has appeared in the maker's download centre either, which is where the specification tables for the rest of the AgileX range live. The robot went on sale in the maker's store in late July 2026, alongside two other new products, and is listed under a locomotion category — wheeled-legged — that AgileX created for it.
