CR12A sits between the CR10A and the CR16A and is, by a narrow margin, the lightest of the four arms Dobot builds around the 350 W control box: 39.5 kg against 40 kg for the other three. It lifts 12 kg to 1,200 mm at +/-0.03 mm repeatability, so compared with the CR10A it trades 100 mm of radius for 2 kg of payload while shedding half a kilogram of its own mass. Joint speeds and tool-side wiring are identical across this group - 150, 180 and 223 deg/s, two digital inputs, two digital outputs and two analogue inputs shared with RS485 - which makes payload and radius the only real choice a buyer makes between them. Common to the CRA series: six rotary axes, a stand-alone safety controller rated PLd Cat.3 with more than twenty safety functions, certification to ISO 13849-1, ISO 10218-1 and ISO/TS 15066, laser calibration giving absolute positioning accuracy under 0.4 mm, an electromagnetic brake that engages within 18 ms and holds position within 1 mm on power loss, 24 digital inputs and outputs with both PNP and NPN switching, and Modbus TCP/RTU, EtherNet/IP and PROFINET as standard. The arm runs DobotStudio Pro; a 10.1-inch teach pendant, the SafeSkin proximity layer (15 cm pre-collision sensing, 0.01 s monitoring, 0.1 s response) and the VX500 five-megapixel smart camera are optional. Dobot claims a 25% shorter cycle time than the previous CR series. One inconsistency in Dobot's own published data is worth recording rather than hiding: the series comparison table gives this family maximum linear speeds of 3 to 5.5 m/s, while the CR20A product page puts maximum TCP speed at 2,000 mm/s - a gap of nearly threefold that the manufacturer does not explain. Dobot publishes no list price and no separate datasheet for this model; every figure here comes from the series comparison table.
