The largest force-controlled arm Dobot builds: 20 kg on a 1,700 mm radius, with the flange force sensor that makes automotive grinding and polishing its stated purpose.
CR20AF is the top of Dobot's CRAF line, introduced in 2025: 20 kg of payload within a 1,700 mm working radius at +/-0.05 mm repeatability. As with the rest of the line, those three numbers match the plain CR20A exactly - CRAF is the CRA arm with a high-resolution six-axis force sensor built into the flange, not a new mechanical platform - and the repeatability figure is also the loosest in the family, which is the usual trade for reach and payload. The force sensor is what the largest arm is sold on. Dobot names automotive grinding and polishing directly: the arm holds contact force constant with automatic compensation, so pressure against a panel does not follow the tolerances of the workpiece. It also scans surfaces to sense the environment - a change in table height, for example - and adapts motion to what it finds. Teaching is done by hand: the whole flange is an active drag zone with a ring status light and a press-to-drag button, drag-start force is below 2 N, orientation can be locked while a path is taught and Dobot claims 0.1 mm point-to-point accuracy for this hand teaching. That last figure describes taught points, not repeatability, and should not be read against the +/-0.05 mm above. Safety runs through the same sensor: collision detection is rated to 1 N of sensitivity, on a structure Dobot specifies for 2,000 N of impact - a combination aimed at cells where knocks are routine. The force channel leaves the tool-side RS485 and I/O ports free for a gripper or the VX500 smart camera. Mass, power draw and ingress protection are not published for the CRAF variants; this catalogue documents them only for the CRA arms the line is based on.
