Dolphin Liberty 600

Liberty is the range with which Maytronics, the Israeli incumbent of the pool robot market, answered the cordless machines that Chinese manufacturers had begun selling. The first model, the Liberty 300, went on sale in April 2023; the 600 is the top of the range, shown on the company's stand at Piscine Global in Lyon in November 2024 and sold in the United States for 1,729 dollars. The reason a cordless pool robot is worth more than a corded one is mostly about handling. A cable has to be uncoiled, kept from tangling and dragged back out of the water, and it limits how far the machine can travel; the Liberty runs on a 9,800 mAh lithium-ion battery for up to four and a half hours instead, and charges inductively, without exposed contacts to corrode in a chlorinated garden. The other everyday problem it addresses is getting the robot out. An 11.7-kilogram machine full of water is awkward to lift over the coping, so the Liberty parks itself where the owner chooses and, when the user shakes a handheld clicker on a pole, climbs the wall to the waterline on its own — Maytronics calls this Click-Up. The same clicker stops a cycle mid-run. Scheduling, filter status and cleaning programmes are handled by the Maytronics One app over Wi-Fi, and an eco mode spreads the charge over one to two weeks of cleaning instead of a single long run. Filtration is a multi-layer cartridge with top access, with an additional ultra-fine kit in the box, which is the meaningful difference from the cheaper Liberty models. Two active brushes scrub the floor, the walls and the waterline; the default cycle is three hours and the machine is rated for pools up to 15 metres. One inconsistency on the manufacturer's own page is worth flagging: the marketing panel promises the floor, walls, waterline and steps, while the specification table below it lists coverage as floor, walls and waterline only. Unlike the newer EON line, the Liberty needs to be fully submerged, so shallow sun ledges and the top step are not its territory. The warranty is three years.
