Dolphin Wave 30
Maytronics · Israel · 2022
The smallest and lightest machine in the commercial Wave range still scrubs the walls and the waterline, which none of the flagships above it does — and carries the longest warranty in the line.
The Dolphin Wave 30 is the entry machine of Maytronics' commercial Wave range, a mains-powered cleaner sold for hotel, campground and school pools. It weighs 10.45 kg, the lightest robot in the line, runs on 18 metres of anti-tangling swivel cable from a caddy, moves 17 cubic metres of water an hour and cleans the floor, the walls and the waterline with two combined brushes, none of them actively driven. Debris goes into a filter bag loaded from underneath; there is no full-filter indicator, no remote control, no weekly timer, no mobile app and no automation mode. Warranty is three years and a caddy is included. Maytronics never announced the machine, so the catalogue records 2022 as the earliest documented year rather than a launch date: an archived copy of the maker's own product page from September 2022 already carries the full Wave 30 card, and the address itself is indexed from May 2022. That archived card is worth reading next to the current one, because the manufacturer has quietly cut the machine down on paper. In 2022 Maytronics rated the Wave 30 for pools up to 20 metres and printed a three-hour cycle; the card published today rates the same robot for 12 metres and gives no cycle time at all, while the cable stays at 18 metres and the weight moves only from 11 to 10.45 kg. The catalogue records both figures without picking one. It is the second machine in this line caught being re-rated downwards, after the Wave 100 went from 120 feet of pool in a 2012 dealer catalogue to 82 feet today at an unchanged flow rate. The cleaning coverage is the other thing worth saying plainly. Everything above the Wave 30 in the commercial range is bigger, heavier and more expensive, but the 35-metre Wave 150 and the 50-metre Wave 300 XL clean the floor only, and both carry a two-year warranty. The cheapest machine in the family is the one that scrubs the waterline and is covered for three years. This is the fifth Dolphin commercial model where the number in the name describes pool length, not class of equipment. Maytronics publishes no list price for the Wave 30; it is a dealer-channel product.
