The M0609 is the compact member of the four collaborative arms Doosan Robotics launched with at Robot World in Seoul in late September 2017. The company's card of the time described it as optimised for repetitive tasks at high speed in a limited space, and eight years on that is still what the numbers say. It carries 6 kg over a 900 mm reach and weighs 27 kg - the lightest arm in the M-SERIES, seven kilograms less than the long M0617. Its base and shoulder joints turn at 180 degrees per second, the fastest in the family; the long M0617 manages 100. Short arms can move their shoulders quickly because there is less mass and inertia at the end of the boom, and that is the whole argument for choosing this model over its siblings: it does more cycles per hour in a small cell. The M0609 also carries the tightest precision figure in the series, and the way that figure arrived is worth recording. Doosan's own product card declared plus/minus 0.1 mm for this robot in October 2018, plus/minus 0.05 mm in 2020 and plus/minus 0.03 mm today. At launch the maker published a single accuracy figure for all four M-SERIES models regardless of arm length; today the declarations fan out by reach, and only the 900 mm machines reached 0.03 mm. The manufacturer does not explain the change - a hardware revision, a different measurement standard, or simply more confidence in a mature product are all possible - so this catalogue records the current figure as the specification and the older ones as history. One piece of the maker's own marketing is worth reading carefully: Doosan's current product pages open the description of every single M-SERIES model, this one included, with the words flagship model. The label is a template applied across the family, not a ranking, and buyers comparing the four should ignore it and read the payload, reach and speed instead. The hardware is series standard: a torque sensor in each of the six axes rather than one at the wrist, force and compliance control built on those sensors, a controller with Ethernet, Wi-Fi, serial and fieldbus interfaces, and programming through the Dart-Suite platform. Options include a compact DC controller (CS-02) for mounting on AGVs and AMRs, a steel IP54 controller for dirty workshops, a white or stain-resistant navy finish, and wrist buttons for hand-guided teaching. Doosan no longer publishes a full specification table on the product page - the complete catalogue sits behind a marketing consent form - so the arm mass, per-axis speeds and protection rating quoted here come from the manufacturer's own 2018 product card and are flagged as such. No list price is published.
