The M0617 is the reach specialist among the four cobots Doosan Robotics launched with at Robot World in Seoul in late September 2017. The maker's own card of the time recommended it for operating multiple tasks or long-range tasks, which is a polite way of saying it exists to cover ground: 1700 mm of reach, almost twice that of its siblings. Everything else in the specification is the bill for that length. Payload drops to 6 kg, the same as the short M0609 - a long lever cannot hold more without a heavier structure. The arm itself is the heaviest in the family at 34 kg. Its base and shoulder joints turn at 100 degrees per second, against 180 on the 900 mm M0609; the wrist joints, which swing no long lever, stay at the series-standard 225. And where Doosan has tightened the declared repeatability of its shorter M-SERIES arms twice since launch - the 900 mm models went from plus/minus 0.1 mm in 2018 through 0.05 mm in 2020 to 0.03 mm today - the M0617 still stands at 0.1 mm, exactly where the whole series started. In a family that has quietly grown more accurate, the long arm is the one that has not moved. That is not a fault so much as an honest reading of the physics: precision at the tool falls away as the boom gets longer, and this is the longest boom Doosan builds in the M-SERIES. Buyers choose it when the cell is wide and the tolerance is loose - tending several machines from one mounting point, long-stroke pick and place, welding along an extended seam. The rest is series standard: a torque sensor in each of the six axes rather than one at the wrist, force and compliance control built on those sensors, a controller with Ethernet, Wi-Fi, serial and fieldbus interfaces, and programming through the Dart-Suite platform. The same options apply - a compact DC controller (CS-02) for AGV and AMR mounting, a steel IP54 controller for dirty workshops, white or stain-resistant navy finish, and wrist buttons for hand-guided teaching. Doosan no longer publishes a full specification table on the product page - the complete catalogue sits behind a marketing consent form - so the arm mass, per-axis speeds and protection rating quoted here come from the manufacturer's own 2018 product card and are flagged as such. No list price is published.
