Dreame X50 Ultra

X50 Ultra was Dreame's 2025 flagship and the machine that put the company's ProLeap system — a pair of retractable legs that lift the whole chassis — into volume production. Dreame dates the technology to the fourth quarter of 2024 and claims to have been first to mass-produce it; the X50 Ultra is where it reached shops, at USD 999.99. The headline number needs reading with the footnotes. Dreame advertises obstacle crossing of 60 mm, but its own specification table qualifies that as a two-step climb, and the footnote adds a condition: the gap between the two steps has to be wider than 40 mm. For a single vertical obstacle the manufacturer's own limit is 42 mm. Both figures come from in-house lab tests. The difference matters at the front door: a standard single threshold strip does not become passable because the box says 6 cm. The rest is conventional flagship hardware for the year: 20,000 Pa Vormax suction, a 6,400 mAh battery, a 395 ml onboard dust box and a retractable VersaLift lidar that drops the robot's height from 111 mm to 89 mm so it can work under low furniture. Navigation combines an AI RGB camera with lateral 3D structured light. The base station empties the robot, washes the mop pads with 80 °C water, dries them with hot air and refills the tanks from its own 4.5 litre reservoir. Dreame also had the product certified by UL Solutions at Diamond level for cybersecurity — an unusual claim to make for a vacuum cleaner, and a checkable one. The X50 Ultra has not been withdrawn. It remains listed alongside its 2026 successor, the X60 Ultra, which raised suction to 35,000 Pa, cut the retracted height to 79.5 mm and washes its mops at 100 °C. A more heavily equipped X50 Ultra Complete bundle sells for USD 1,099.99; the robot itself is the same machine.
