Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry

The R1 Nurovi Dry is the simpler of the two robot vacuums Dyson announced in London on 3 September 2026. It shares the range's engineering with the R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry but leaves out the wet half: there are no Reuleaux triangle mopping pads and no pad-washing cycle in the dock, because this machine only vacuums. Everything on the pick-up side is the same. The Twin-capture system divides the work that the category normally leaves to suction alone - bristles on the brush bar sweep larger debris mechanically into the machine, while the vacuum motor concentrates on lifting fine dust embedded in the floor. The extending anti-tangle side sweepers use an angled design and a webbed connector that governs brush pressure and direction, so hair and dust are guided into the airflow path rather than flicked across the room or wound around the bristles. Acoustic piezo dust sensing and floor detection read dust level and surface type in real time and adjust suction and behaviour during the clean. The dock is the bagless cyclonic unit with eight Dyson cyclones, emptying the robot after every run and holding up to 90 days of dry waste in a sealed system. Scheduling, zone definition, cleaning modes and post-session coverage data come through the MyDyson app. As with the R2, no suction rating appears here. Dyson published none for this range and argues that pick-up depends on the whole system rather than one number, so the figures circulating in secondary coverage have been left out. Dimensions, weight, battery, runtime and price are also missing from the company's own material. Dyson described both robots as launching soon rather than giving this model a shipping date.
