Elite Robots CS620-Ex

Elite Robots CS620-Ex is the explosion-proof version of the CS620 collaborative arm built by Elite Robots of Suzhou. It carries 20 kg over a 1800 mm radius with a repeatability of +/-0.05 mm, weighs 60 kg, stands on a 240 mm base and draws 695 W in typical use. The explosion-proof line takes the mechanics of the standard CS arms into hazardous areas. All three models keep the reach, mass, joint speeds and tool-point speed of the arm they derive from, and add an IP68 rating and a full gas and dust certification: Ex db eb ib mb pxb IIC T6 Gb; Ex ib mb pxb tb IIIC T80 C Db. The pxb marking means the enclosure is pressurised, and that is paid for in electricity. Across the line the surcharge is the same 70 W regardless of arm size: 320 W against 250 W here, 505 against 435 on the 12 kg arm and 695 against 625 on the 20 kg one. A constant, not a proportional cost - the protection system draws what it draws whether it guards a small arm or a large one. The manufacturer also states a tighter repeatability for the protected arm than for the one it derives from: +/-0.05 mm against +/-0.1 mm on the standard CS620, with identical reach, mass and joint speeds. All three explosion-proof models show the same pattern, so it reads as a deliberate specification rather than a typographical slip, but Elite Robots does not explain what changes mechanically. All six joints turn +/-360 degrees, at 125/125/150 deg/s at base, shoulder and elbow and 210 deg/s at all three wrist axes, for a maximum tool-point speed of 3.9 m/s. The arm is sealed to IP68, works from -10 to 50 C and up to 90% relative humidity without condensation, is built from aluminium alloy, steel, plastic and rubber on a 5.5 m cable, and runs from the ERB3C2K0NX control cabinet with the ERP500 pendant; the ERP500S safety pendant is optional. Elite Robots lists this model only on its Chinese-language site; the international site shows a narrower range. No list price is published.
