The middle member of Epson's CX-A line: 701 mm of reach, 7 kg maximum payload and +/-0.015 mm repeatability, with the same 540-degree wrist as the smaller CX4A.
The CX7A is the seven-kilogram member of Epson's CX-A series, the six-axis line the company introduced in April 2026 above its long-running C series. Where the CX4A covers the small, high-precision end of the range, the CX7A takes the same architecture out to 701.3 mm measured to the centre of the fifth joint, or 782.8 mm to the tool flange, and raises the payload to 3 kg rated and 7 kg maximum. The joint travel is identical to the smaller arm and is the most distinctive thing about the series: the first axis swings a full +/-180 degrees, the fourth +/-270 and the sixth +/-540, meaning the wrist can turn a revolution and a half in each direction. For screwdriving, cable routing or dispensing that follows a long path, it removes the unwind move that a +/-360-degree wrist has to make. The allowable moment of inertia at the fourth and fifth joints is 0.49 kg·m2, more than twice the CX4A's 0.2, which is what makes the larger payload usable with a real gripper rather than only on paper. Precision is the price of the extra reach. Repeatability is +/-0.015 mm against +/-0.01 mm on the CX4A, still tighter than the C series it sits above at this size. The arm weighs 32 to 34 kg depending on cabling variant and sealing, draws 2.0 kVA from a single-phase 200-240 V supply, and mounts on a table, a wall or a ceiling. It runs on the same RC800-A controller with Epson RC+ 8 and Safe Robot Motion functions, and is available in standard, ESD, ISO Class 3 cleanroom and IP67 protected builds. Like the rest of the series it is an industrial robot for a guarded cell, not a collaborative arm.
