The CR-7iA/L is the long-reach version of FANUC's 7 kg green cobot, introduced with the rest of the CR line at IMTS in September 2016. It keeps the payload at 7 kg and the repeatability at +/-0.01 mm while extending the reach from 717 mm to 911 mm, at a cost of 2 kg of arm mass, 55 kg against 53 kg. The controller, the IP67 sealing, the 1 kW average draw and the mounting options are unchanged, and the J3 axis gains a slightly wider sweep, 383 degrees against 373. One gap in the manufacturer's own data is worth flagging for anyone specifying this arm. FANUC's specification table for the standard CR-7iA lists 500 mm/s in collaborative mode and 1,000 mm/s in high-speed mode; the table for this variant carries no speed rows at all. This catalogue therefore records no speed figure rather than assuming the shorter arm's numbers carry over - a longer arm at the same joint rates moves its tool faster, so the assumption is not safe. Buyers should ask FANUC directly. The robot is sold for the same work as the standard model: machine tending, assembly and inspection where the extra 194 mm of reach lets one arm cover two machines. No list price is published.
