Husqvarna Automower 435 iQ AWD

The Automower 435 iQ AWD, announced in April 2025, is the same machine as the 435X AWD with the boundary wire taken out. It keeps the articulated two-body chassis, all-wheel drive, 70 percent gradient rating, the 22 cm cutting disc with three pivoting blades, the 8 Ah battery, 145 minutes of mowing and 45 minutes of charging. What changes is how it knows where it is: Husqvarna EPOS combines satellite RTK positioning with radar odometry for centimetre-level accuracy, and boundaries, stay-out zones and transport paths are drawn in the app instead of dug into the lawn. The iQ series is also the first residential Husqvarna range that can take its RTK correction over the cellular network in selected markets, which removes the reference station from the garden entirely. The interesting consequence is not convenience but throughput. Husqvarna rates the identical hardware at 0.9 acre when mowing in the traditional random pattern and 1.3 acre when mowing systematically in lines, stripes or checkerboards - a 44 percent larger lawn from route planning alone, with no change to battery, blade or motor. That is the clearest published statement of what mapping is actually worth in this class. The machine also keeps the wired option, so an owner can fall back to a physical wire where satellite reception fails. The price is USD 4,999.99, two thousand dollars above the wired model that Husqvarna still sells alongside it, and roughly three times what wire-free lidar competitors from China ask for a comparable garden.
