KR1018 completed the KR series in 2020 together with the KR1410, two years after the first three arms were shown. It carries 18 kg, the highest payload of the second generation, over the shortest reach of the big-base models: 1000 mm. Manual weight is 34 kg, against 38 kg on the product page. The payload-to-mass ratio is the strongest argument for this arm. Eighteen kilograms on a 34 kg machine puts it ahead of every other KR model and of most six-axis cobots of comparable size, and it does so on a 160 x 160 mm base that fits the same mounting plate as the KR1410 and KR1805. The price is joint speed: the first four joints run at 163 deg/s rather than the 225 deg/s of the small-base arms, while the three wrist joints keep the full 225 deg/s. Peak power draw is 400-1200 W, double the ceiling of the KR810 and KR1205. All seven joints carry torque sensing, which is how the arm detects impact and abnormal load rather than through an added skin. Kassow publishes no repeatability figure for this or any other second-generation model - the profile deliberately leaves that field empty; only the KR1240 and KR1824 added in 2026 carry one. Bosch Rexroth became majority owner of the company in April 2022; production remains in Kastrup near Copenhagen.
