KR1205 is the reach-for-payload trade inside the small-base family. It keeps the 130 x 130 mm footprint, the 400-600 W power envelope and the full 225 deg/s on all seven joints of the KR810, and adds 350 mm of radius - but lifts 5 kg instead of 10. Weight is 25 kg in the manual, 26 kg on the product page. It was one of the three arms shown at Automatica 2018 and launched commercially in 2019. That combination is unusual: a 1.2 m working radius normally comes on a heavier machine with a wider base. Here the whole arm still weighs less than a KR1018 by nine kilograms and mounts on the same small plate as the shortest model in the range, which makes it the natural choice where the robot has to be moved between stations or hung from a light frame. Joints 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7 rotate +/-360 degrees, joints 2 and 4 cover -70 to +180 degrees, and the seventh axis gives the elbow freedom that a six-axis arm of the same reach does not have. As with every second-generation KR model, Kassow states no repeatability; the KR1240 and KR1824 of 2026 are the first in the series with a published figure. The manufacturer does specify the payload derating rule instead: the centre of gravity should stay within half the nominal reach plus 150 mm from joints 3 and 4 on this model, because the wrist torque limit of 25 Nm, not the motors, sets the real ceiling.
