LBR iisy 15 R930 CR
KUKA · Germany · 2025
The strongest cleanroom cobot KUKA builds: 15 kg over 930 mm, rated up to ISO Class 3. It is the newest member of the LBR iisy family and the second of its two cleanroom versions.
The LBR iisy 15 R930 CR is the heaviest-lifting cleanroom cobot in KUKA's range: 15 kg of total load over 930 mm on six axes, rated up to ISO Class 3. It is also the newest build in the family, appearing on the manufacturer's own family page during 2025 — three years after the standard 15 kg model and about a year after the first cleanroom variant. Its existence resolves an obvious gap. Until it arrived, a cleanroom user in this family had exactly one choice, the long-arm 11 kg CR, and had to accept 1300 mm of reach whether the cell allowed it or not. The 15 R930 CR gives the compact envelope and, at the same time, the highest payload in the range — a combination that matters in semiconductor and battery work, where wafer carriers, cassettes and cell trays are heavy but the equipment around them is tightly packed. The cleanroom rating is quoted without a speed or payload condition. That is the distinguishing point against the rest of the market: Universal Robots ties its ISO Class 4 figure for the UR15 to 80 percent of speed and payload, and ABB qualifies its equivalent claim at half speed. KUKA sells a different robot instead of derating a standard one, which costs more and reads more honestly. Everything else is family standard: joint torque sensing in every axis, hand guiding, force-controlled assembly and joining, KR C5 micro-2 control with iiQKA.OS2, ARGUS safety monitoring, IP54, ESD compliance to IEC 61340-5-1, and floor, wall, ceiling or angle mounting. Pose repeatability, arm weight and per-axis speeds are not published for this model. The 2025 date is a lower bound rather than a launch date: KUKA lists the variant without an announcement date, and it is recorded here from the point it first appeared in the manufacturer's own product listing.
