The TM14S sits at the top of the medium pair in Techman's S series: 14 kg of payload over 1100 mm, against the 12 kg over 1300 mm of the TM12S. The two arms weigh the same 33 kg and share every other figure, so the choice between them is a straight trade of 2 kg of payload for 200 mm of reach. Like its smaller twin, it is a rebuild rather than a new design, and the rebuild is measurable. The TM14 of 2018 carried the same 14 kg over the same 1100 mm at 32.5 kg of mass, and repeated to plus/minus 0.1 mm. The S-series version repeats to plus/minus 0.03 mm — the full 70 percent improvement Techman advertises, delivered without changing the working envelope a customer may already have designed a cell around. That last point is the commercial argument for the series. A factory replacing a 2018 TM14 with a TM14S keeps its reach, its payload and roughly its mounting mass, and gains sealing, speed, precision and a modern safety package. Protection goes from IP54 to IP65. The sixth axis runs at 450 rather than 225 degrees per second, for a claimed 25 percent shorter cycle. Up to 31 TUV-certified safety functions rated PL d, Cat 3 replace the older safety set, with SGS certification for UL and CSA and a Declaration of Incorporation for Europe. The tasks Techman names for the arm are the heavy end of collaborative work: welding, packaging, palletising and machine tending with heavier parts or tools. For welding in particular the precision step matters more than the payload, since a torch weighs little and the seam tolerance is what decides whether the cell needs a fixture. The wrist camera and the AI vision stack behind it — classification, object detection, semantic segmentation, anomaly detection, trained on the TM AI+ Training Server — are standard across the series, as is the TMflow environment in which vision and motion are programmed together rather than through a separate controller.
