Aucari

Aucari is the open counterpart of Vercari - the same UBTech elderly-care line, unveiled globally on 2 September 2022 under the descriptive name "Open Shelf Delivery Robot". Where Vercari locks its cargo away, Aucari carries it on three visible trays, which suits meals, linen and everyday supplies rather than medication or samples. The shelves are not merely shelves: each one carries sensors that recognise what has been placed on it, so the robot knows whether a delivery has been taken. Each tray measures 42 by 41.5 cm and holds 10 kg, and the top tray can be lifted out to raise the gap between the remaining levels from 24 cm to 42 cm - the difference between a stack of dinner plates and a tall thermos. The robot fits a care home corridor rather than a restaurant floor. It needs 75 cm to pass, moves at 0.2 to 1 m/s, and connects to door access and lift control systems, so it can move between floors without a member of staff escorting it. It works either on tasks scheduled centrally or on one-off requests, and switches between a dining-room mode for group meals and a room-service mode for individual rounds. The cloud platform records delivery times and locations, and UBTech offers to adapt the appearance and functions to a customer's setting. Endurance is the strongest number in the sheet: a 20 Ah battery gives 8 hours of work and recharges in 5. The machine weighs 59 kg net at 57 by 60 by 143 cm, clears 1.5 cm obstacles and 5-degree slopes, and navigates on lidar, ultrasonic and infrared sensors, an RGBD camera and an IMU. As with the rest of this line, the manufacturer publishes no price.
