Unitree As2-W

Unitree showed the As2-W in July 2026 as the wheeled member of the compact As2 family, marketed under the company's "Super Athlete" tag. Powered wheels on 7-inch tyres sit at the end of the legs, so the machine rolls over hard ground and switches to walking where wheels alone would fail: it clears 30 cm stairs, 45-degree slopes and obstacles up to 80 cm. The manufacturer's datasheet puts it at roughly 25 kg with battery, five kilograms heavier than the legged As2, with 16 joint motors instead of 12 and the same 95 N·m peak joint torque. The energy trade works out as expected — rolling costs far less than stepping, so the same 648 Wh battery gives about three hours and 30 km unloaded, against just over four hours but only 20 km for the walking As2. Payload is 16 kg while moving and about 150 kg standing still. Two versions are sold, As2-W X and an EDU configuration for industry projects; the EDU adds a charging dock and an optional high-power compute dock for modules such as the Orin NX.
