UR12e

The UR12e is the UR10e sold under a different name. Universal Robots announced the change on 12 May 2025 at the Automate fair in Detroit, together with the UR5e becoming the UR7e; from that day the e-Series catalogue lists UR3e, UR7e, UR12e and UR16e, and the two older names are gone. In this case the rename did not even bring a new capability. The UR10e had been rated at 12.5 kg since an enhanced version announced on 17 May 2021, sold at an unchanged price, so for four years the arm carried a number in its name that understated what it could lift by a quarter. The 2025 change corrected the label rather than the machine. The data sheets bear that out. Reach is 1,300 mm, the base footprint is 190 mm across, arm weight with the cable is 33.5 kg, pose repeatability is plus/minus 0.05 mm per ISO 9283, maximum tool centre point speed is 4 m/s, and the force-torque sensor covers plus/minus 100 N and plus/minus 10 Nm with plus/minus 5.5 N of accuracy. Power draw is 615 W at maximum and about 350 W at moderate settings. Every one of those figures is identical to the UR10e document. One detail separates this arm from the smaller UR7e beyond size: its two heaviest joints are slower. Base and shoulder turn at up to 120 degrees per second, where every joint of the UR7e reaches 180; elbow and wrists keep the faster rate. Repeatability is also looser, 0.05 against 0.03 mm, which is the pattern across the range - at Universal Robots precision falls as the arm grows. The arm is IP54, the control box IP44, and the working envelope runs from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius at up to 90 percent non-condensing humidity, with noise below 65 dB(A). Twenty-one configurable safety functions are certified to EN ISO 13849-1 PLd Category 3 and EN ISO 10218-1, and the control box speaks Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET with PROFIsafe and ROS or ROS 2. Universal Robots states that accessories, URCaps and application kits made for the UR10e work unchanged, and that installed systems need no modification.
