The UR30 was launched in November 2023 as the second model of the UR Series, sharing the redesigned joints introduced with the UR20 a year earlier: roughly 25 percent more joint torque and up to 65 percent more joint speed than the e-Series generation. It is the heavy end of the range. Payload was raised from 30 kg to 35 kg including the end effector on 26 September 2024, in the same announcement that lifted the UR20 — no hardware change, PolyScope 5.19 or later, and valid in the top lift position, the wrist-down geometry used for palletising. Machines already on factory floors could take the increase as a software update. The manufacturer names heavy machine tending, palletising and high-torque screwdriving as the intended work. Put the UR30 beside the UR15 and the catalogue tells a useful truth about buying arms. Both reach exactly 1,300 mm. The UR30 lifts more than twice as much — 35 kg against 15 — but weighs 63.5 kg instead of 40.7, tops out at 4 m/s instead of 5, and repeats to +/-0.1 mm instead of +/-0.05 mm. Reach is the number printed on the comparison chart, and it is the one number that does not separate these two machines at all. The footprint is 245 mm across, the same base as the UR20, so a workcell built for one takes the other. The arm is sealed to IP65 and rated for ISO Class 4 cleanrooms. The tool flange carries the integrated M8 eight-pin connector with 12 V or 24 V power, two digital inputs and outputs and two analogue inputs, wiring the gripper at the wrist rather than along the arm. Universal Robots sells through integrators and publishes no list price. Specifications here come from the manufacturer's product page and press material. As with the UR20, the company does not publish per-joint speeds, power consumption, noise or ambient temperature limits for this model, so those fields are left empty rather than filled from resellers.
