Read JAKA's Zu30 page in inches and pounds and you are reading the Zu20

Every headline figure on the product page of JAKA's 30 kg collaborative arm is printed twice, once in metric and once in imperial. The two do not describe the same machine. Converted, the imperial column turns out to be the specification of the neighbouring model, the Zu20. The page states a payload of "30 kg (44.1 lb)". Thirty kilograms is 66.1 lb; 44.1 lb is 20.0 kg. It states a reach of "1350 mm (70.1 in)". Seventy-point-one inches is 1,781 mm. It states a weight of "65 kg (149.9 lb)". One hundred and forty-nine-point-nine pounds is 68.0 kg. Payload 20 kg, reach 1,780 mm, weight 68 kg: those are, to the digit, the three numbers JAKA publishes for the Zu20 one page across. The imperial column was not mistyped — it was copied wholesale from a different robot. The practical consequence falls on exactly the buyers the units are there for. A North American integrator sizing a cell in inches and pounds from this page will plan around an arm that reaches 430 mm farther and lifts a third less than the one being ordered — and both errors point in the direction that produces an unusable workcell rather than a merely tight one. The error is not isolated. Across JAKA's classic Zu family the same parameter table is shifted by one row, so the field labelled "Degree of freedom" displays a programming method and a field labelled "Humidity" displays the tool input/output count. On the desktop MiniCobo the same shift pushes the arm's ingress protection rating off the table altogether: the field named "IP classification" shows an ambient temperature range, and the actual IP figure is nowhere on the page. The company's newest tables — the Zu35 and the Mini 2 — carry the same fields correctly labelled, which suggests an old template still serving most of the catalogue rather than a one-off slip. None of this touches the robots themselves. JAKA, founded in Shanghai in 2014 and the manufacturer Teradyne is currently suing at Europe's Unified Patent Court, builds a well-regarded range whose metric figures are internally consistent: within the classic Zu family repeatability loosens from ±0.02 mm on the short arms to ±0.05 mm on the long ones, exactly as arm length predicts. It is the sheet that is broken, not the machine. Three JAKA arms — the Zu3, the Zu12 and the MiniCobo — enter this catalogue today, with metric values only and with the shifted rows left blank rather than filled in.
