The Zu12 is the long-armed member of JAKA's original collaborative family, launched by the Shanghai manufacturer in 2017. It carries 12 kg, reaches 1,327 mm, weighs 41 kg with cables, draws 500 W in typical use and stands on a 188 mm footprint. The arm is sealed to IP54; the control cabinet is the same 410 × 307 × 235 mm, 18 kg box the rest of the series uses, with 16 digital inputs, 16 digital outputs, two analogue channels and Modbus, PROFINET and EtherNet/IP on the wire. Read the family side by side and one thing stops making sense in the usual way: reach does not follow payload. The Zu12 reaches 1,327 mm while the stronger Zu18 reaches only 1,073 mm, and the same inversion repeats a size up, where the 20 kg model reaches 1,780 mm and the 30 kg model just 1,350 mm. Buyers who read the number in the model name as a proxy for how far the robot will get are reading the wrong number — this catalogue has now seen the same pattern at KUKA, Techman and Universal Robots, and JAKA is the fourth manufacturer where it holds. Precision costs length here too. Repeatability is ±0.03 mm, a grade looser than the ±0.02 mm of the shorter Zu3, Zu5 and Zu7, and the 20 kg and larger arms drop again to ±0.05 mm. The pattern is consistent: within this family, the longer the arm, the less exactly it returns to a point. Like the rest of the series, the Zu12 arrives without a teach pendant. Programming runs from a phone, tablet or laptop, in a graphical editor or by guiding the arm by hand — the feature JAKA sold the series on when it introduced it as a "wireless" cobot at the 19th China International Industry Fair. Not published by the manufacturer and therefore not in this profile: joint speeds, maximum tool speed, safety performance level and price. JAKA's own parameter table for this model is shifted by one row, so the fields labelled "Degree of freedom" and "Humidity" carry values belonging to other rows; they have not been copied here.
