For seven years Kassow left repeatability off every spec sheet. Its two new arms finally print a number

Kassow Robots has spent its whole commercial life as the odd one out in the cobot market. Every arm it builds has seven axes rather than six, and until this spring not one of them had a published repeatability figure - not in the product manual, not in the datasheet section, not in the FAQ. In a class where every competitor prints a tolerance in hundredths of a millimetre, the Danish maker printed nothing. That changed with the KR1240 and KR1824, introduced on 10 April 2026. The brochure for the pair lists repeatability of +/-0.03 mm for the KR1240 and +/-0.05 mm for the KR1824 - ordinary numbers for this class, but the first the company has ever committed to. The five older arms, KR810 through KR1805, still carry no figure. The two models also mark the first real mechanical break in the range. The KR1240 carries 40 kg over 1200 mm and the KR1824 carries 24 kg over 1800 mm, against 5 to 18 kg on the earlier arms. Kassow attributes the jump to new joints: 1.5 times the torque, 40 percent more mechanical stiffness and wrist joints roughly 20 percent faster, reaching 270 deg/s on the KR1824. The KR1824 is the more telling of the pair. Its 1800 mm reach is not new - the KR1805 has covered that radius since 2019 - but it did so with payload cut to 5 kg. The new arm keeps the radius and lifts nearly five times as much. The price is size. The base grows from 160 x 160 mm to 194 x 194 mm, and mass roughly doubles: 80 kg for the KR1240 and 76 kg for the KR1824, against 34 to 38 kg for the older models. Protection improves to IP56 and IP55 respectively, up from IP54. Both are offered in the Edge Edition, with the controller folded into the arm base for mobile platforms. Both models now have profiles in our catalogue, and the five older entries have been corrected: the claim that Kassow publishes no repeatability for any model was true until April 2026 and is not any more.
