Serve Robotics published its second-quarter 2026 results on 6 August. Revenue came in at $3.2m, up 9% on the previous quarter and 404% on the same quarter a year earlier. The company says it now has more than 2,000 robots deployed across the United States, serving a population of roughly three million people and delivering for more than 4,000 restaurants. Liquidity stood at $240.4m at the end of June, and gross margin improved as recurring revenue passed half of the total.
The number that moved the share price was the other one. Serve narrowed its full-year 2026 guidance to $9-10m, against the $26m it had previously projected - a cut of roughly two thirds. Growing revenue fivefold and simultaneously halving the year is not a contradiction so much as a description of what fleet economics look like in practice: robots go out faster than the revenue per robot arrives.
For a catalogue like ours the useful signal is the fleet figure rather than the accounting. Two thousand deployed sidewalk robots is a real installed base, and it is one of the few numbers in this industry that can be checked against pavements rather than slides. The Gen3 machine that makes up the current fleet was built for exactly this trade-off - cheaper to manufacture, cheaper to run, and intended to be counted in thousands rather than dozens.
