Techman has launched its smallest cobot ever — and left it out of its own product catalogue

Techman Robot put a new collaborative arm on the market on 24 July 2026, and six weeks later the machine still has no page in the company's product catalogue. The TM3S is the smallest arm the Taiwanese manufacturer has ever sold: 3 kg of payload, a 600 mm working radius and a body it describes as weighing under 12 kg. The number that matters is the last one. At under 12 kg the arm is inside what one technician can lift off a bench and carry, and Techman designed the rest of the machine around that possibility. The power lead uses a quick-release connector, so the composite cable can be swapped and the unit unbolted and remounted at another station without opening the arm. On a shop floor running short batches, that turns relocation from a scheduled job into something done between shifts. Everything else is borrowed from the S series launched in 2023: the same control box, the same TMflow programming environment, the same hand-guided vision teaching, and the wrist camera that has been standard on every Techman arm since 2016. The manufacturer points the TM3S at precision welding, assembly, workstation localisation and fast automated inspection in confined spaces. What is missing is the paperwork. The arm made its overseas debut in Bangkok at ME Assembly and Automation on 17 June 2026 and was declared commercially available five weeks later, but as of 8 September 2026 tm-robot.com has no TM3S entry under either cobot series, no datasheet and no price. The payload, reach and mass quoted above exist in exactly one place: a launch post on the company's Chinese-language site. Figures the S series is otherwise sold on — repeatability of plus/minus 0.03 mm, IP65 sealing — have not been published for this model, and this catalogue does not assume they carry over. The launch also settles a question about the rest of the range. Techman has added a ninth S-series model without dropping anything: TM5-700, TM5-900, TM12, TM14, TM16 and TM20, all from 2016 to 2021, remain listed and linked from the manufacturer's front page. Where Universal Robots renamed two of its best-known arms this year and FANUC quietly cut its collaborative line from five models to two, Techman is still adding to both ends at once.
