Techman TM3S
Techman Robot · Taiwan · 2026
The smallest arm Techman has ever built: 3 kg payload, 600 mm reach and a body light enough for one person to carry to the next workstation.
The TM3S is the entry point of Techman's S series and the smallest arm the Taiwanese manufacturer has put on the market: 3 kg of rated payload, a 600 mm working radius and a body the company describes as weighing under 12 kg. It made its overseas debut at ME Assembly and Automation in Bangkok on 17 June 2026 and was announced as commercially available on 24 July 2026. The interesting part of this machine is not what it lifts but how quickly it can be moved. Techman built it around a quick-release cable design: the power lead detaches without opening the arm, so the composite cable can be swapped and the unit unbolted, carried and rebolted at another station in a fraction of the usual time. That is a direct answer to a complaint heard on every high-mix, low-volume shop floor, where a cobot is often idle not because the job is finished but because moving it to the next job costs half a shift. Everything above the mechanics is inherited rather than redesigned. The TM3S runs the same control box, the same TMflow programming environment and the same hand-guided vision teaching as the rest of the S series, which means an integrator who already deploys a TM12S has no new software to learn. The wrist camera that has defined every Techman arm since 2016 is present here too, and the manufacturer points the machine at precision welding, assembly, workstation localisation and fast automated inspection. One caveat is worth stating plainly: as of September 2026 Techman has not published a catalogue page or a datasheet for the TM3S. Payload, reach and body mass come from the company's own launch announcement, but figures the S series is otherwise known for - repeatability of plus/minus 0.03 mm, IP65 sealing, joint-by-joint speed limits - have not been confirmed for this model and are deliberately not repeated here.
