Qiji X1 is the wheel-free member of DAX Robotics' Qiji line of rideable quadrupeds, shown publicly at the World Robot Conference in Beijing in August 2026. The rider sits in a saddle and steers with handlebars while the machine handles balance, gait and footing; the manufacturer describes the walking pattern as a reproduction of a horse's natural step. Sixteen joint actuators driven from a 165 V pack give a stated maximum joint torque of 1400 Nm, a dynamic payload of 300 kg — equal to the robot's own mass — and 8 to 10 hours of operation or about 40 km on a charge, at a walking pace of 7 to 10 km/h. Because it stands on point feet rather than wheels, DAX positions it for steep slopes, gravel, mud and unpaved trails rather than for road speed; the faster wheel-legged Qiji XS covers that role. The series is sold through a three-year exclusive arrangement with JD.com. The catalogue lists the robot as a prototype: orders and reservations have opened, but DAX has not published evidence of series deliveries, and the price figures circulating in the press (around 289,000 yuan) do not come from a manufacturer price list.
