Xingzhe No.1 is the machine every DroidUp product page still points back to, and the reason the company's humanoids are built the way they are. It was not a product. It was a university walking robot, built by Professor Li Qingdu's team at the College of Automation of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and its single purpose was to walk further on one charge than anything else with legs. The design is almost aggressively plain: a rectangular aluminium-alloy body carried on four long carbon-fibre legs, 1.2 m tall, legs 91 cm long, 10.226 kg all in. There is no dexterity, no manipulation, no sensing suite worth the name. The engineering went entirely into the gait — a biomimetic, near-passive walk that lets the machine fall forward and catch itself rather than lifting its own mass with motors on every step. Between 24 and 27 October 2015, in an indoor sports hall in Chongqing, it walked 134.03 km without a single human touch or intervention, in roughly 54 hours, consuming 0.8 kWh. Guinness World Records certified it as the farthest distance covered by a quadruped robot, taking the title from Cornell University's Ranger, which had held it since 2011 at 65.243 km. Against that record the Chinese team improved distance 2.05-fold, efficiency 1.3-fold, speed 1.18-fold and endurance time 1.76-fold, and became the first legged machine in history to pass 100 km. The number worth holding on to is the energy one. 0.8 kWh over 134 km is about 6 Wh per kilometre — less than most electric scooters use, for a machine that walks. That figure is the whole argument behind DroidUp's later line: Li founded the company that became DroidUp shortly afterwards, carried the same low-energy, tendon-driven philosophy into the bipedal Xingzhe No.2, and it is why Moya weighs about 32 kg where comparable humanoids weigh three times that. The record itself has not been beaten in its category; AgiBot A2's 106.286 km walk in November 2025 is a separate Guinness title for humanoid robots, not a defeat of this one.
