Dyson's mopping robot, launched 3 September 2026 with corner-reaching Reuleaux triangle pads and a dock that washes them at 75 C - and with no suction figure published at all.
The R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry is the mopping half of the pair of robot vacuums Dyson announced in London on 3 September 2026, alongside the vacuum-only R1 Nurovi Dry. It is the machine that carries the range's most distinctive idea: instead of the round mopping pads used across the category, it spins a pair of Reuleaux triangle pads - a curved shape of constant width that rolls as smoothly as a circle while its three corner points reach into corners and along edges. Dyson pairs them with what it calls a precise eccentric movement pattern, so the pads sweep the wall line rather than stopping short of it. The pick-up system is new as well. Dyson's Twin-capture splits a job the category normally hands to suction alone: bristles on the brush bar mechanically sweep larger, heavier debris straight into the machine, while the vacuum motor is left to do the thing suction is actually good at - pulling embedded fine dust out of the floor. Extending side sweepers, angled and fitted with a webbed connector that controls brush pressure and direction, push the reach right up to the wall and are designed to guide hair into the airflow path instead of scattering it or winding it around the bristles. Acoustic piezo dust sensing and a floor-detect system read dust levels and surface type in real time and change suction and behaviour as the robot works. The dock is a bagless, cyclonic unit with eight Dyson cyclones. It empties the robot after every clean and stores up to 90 days of dry waste in a sealed system; for this model it also washes the Reuleaux pads in 75 C water after each run and dries them with 45 C air, which is Dyson's answer to the mould and odour that build up in damp mop pads. The MyDyson app handles schedules, zones and cleaning modes, and reports coverage after each session. What this profile deliberately does not carry is a suction rating. Robot vacuums are sold on pascals, and secondary outlets have already attached figures to this range, but Dyson's own launch material states no suction number for the R2 - it argues instead that pick-up is a property of the whole system rather than of one figure. Dimensions, weight, battery capacity, runtime and price are likewise absent from the company's announcement, so they are absent here. They will be added when Dyson publishes a specification sheet.
