EngineAI JS01

JS01 is EngineAI's entry into the heavy quadruped class and, unlike the company's humanoids, it is a load carrier first. The manufacturer quotes a payload of up to 80 kg - roughly the weight of an adult person - with a top speed of 3 m/s, which puts it in the same bracket as the industrial machines used for utility inspection and equipment portage rather than the 15 kg research dogs. The mechanical answer to that load is EngineAI's own integrated joint modules with active cooling built into them, because sustained torque at high payload is a thermal problem before it is a torque problem, plus adaptive shock-absorbing joints and aerospace-grade aluminium body panels. Navigation runs on lidar with SLAM, a wide-angle camera, an IMU and an Intel RealSense D435i depth camera; the company claims centimetre-level positioning, live terrain mapping, dynamic obstacle avoidance and gait that adapts to the surface underfoot. The 10,000 mAh battery is the same capacity EngineAI uses in its lightweight humanoid PM01. The manufacturer does not publish dimensions, total mass, degrees of freedom, runtime or price for JS01, so the profile stays with the figures the company does state. Within EngineAI's line-up the robot is the practical counterweight to SE01 and T800: where those are showcases for gait and general-purpose work, JS01 is meant to go to a site and carry something.
