SE01 is EngineAI's first full-size humanoid and the machine that put the Shenzhen company on the map in October 2024. Its claim to fame is gait. Almost every bipedal robot walks with permanently bent knees, because a crouch keeps the joints away from the mathematically awkward straight-leg position; the result is the shuffling, knees-down walk familiar from a decade of humanoid demonstrations. SE01 walks with its legs extended and its stride long, which is why the launch video was widely accused of being computer graphics. EngineAI credits an end-to-end neural network control policy rather than a hand-written walking controller, together with its own harmonic, planetary and ball-screw joint modules. The manufacturer's product page stresses human proportions, a five-finger hand with six degrees of freedom, and a sensor suite of lidar, depth camera, infrared camera, IMU and force feedback; it also gives a quick-charge battery reaching 80 per cent in about two hours for roughly two hours of work. EngineAI does not publish a dimensional or price table for SE01. The company's own launch release and the trade coverage that followed put the robot at 170 cm and 55 kg with 32 degrees of freedom and a walking speed of 2 m/s - figures we repeat as reported rather than as a manufacturer specification. The same release stated an ambition of more than a thousand units a year from 2025. SE01 remains the reference point for the company's later machines: the lightweight PM01 and the full-size T800 both descend from it.
