Ameca Desktop

Ameca Desktop is Engineered Arts' answer to the problem that made the full-size Ameca famous and impractical at once: almost everything people react to happens above the shoulders. The Gen 3 version, released on 22 June 2026, keeps the head and torso and discards the rest, arriving at 525 × 420 × 260 mm and 8.5 kg — a robot that sits on a desk and is carried by one person. The expressiveness is not reduced in proportion. Of its 32 degrees of freedom, 27 animate facial features such as the eyes and lips, with the remaining five in the neck. Perception is built around the face too: an HD camera behind each eye, a wide-angle HD camera in the chest, a spatial microphone array and mmWave radar so the robot registers people approaching before they speak. Output goes through a 40 W full-range speaker. The software is the Tritium suite — Tritium OS, Tritium AI and Tritium UI — and Engineered Arts has deliberately not tied it to one language model: the robot connects to Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini and Perplexity, with agent behaviour assembled in a Core Agent builder and speech in more than 70 languages through an ElevenLabs integration. In practice the robot is a body for whichever model the customer chooses. It is CE and FCC certified and connects over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Engineered Arts sells it outright, rents it or quotes per project, and does not publish a list price. The full-size Ameca remains a separate product and keeps its own entry in this catalogue.
