The generation that made Leju a humanoid maker: a 45 kg biped running OpenHarmony, sold as the first Chinese humanoid able to jump repeatedly and walk over broken ground.
KUAVO 3.0 is the third generation of the KUAVO family (Chinese name 夸父, Kuafu) and the machine that established Leju as a maker of full-size humanoids. Chinese press presented it in early December 2023 under the line the manufacturer still uses on its own product page: the country's first open-source HarmonyOS humanoid that can jump and walk across varied terrain. Everything Leju sells today — the guide-oriented KUAVO 4Pro and the industrial KUAVO 5 — descends from this platform. The manufacturer's datasheet is short and unusually physical. The robot weighs about 45 kg, walks omnidirectionally at up to 5 km/h, and carries 38 or more degrees of freedom: twelve in the legs and fourteen in the arms. Its own integrated joints are rated at 360 Nm peak torque, 150 rpm and a torque density above 200 Nm/kg — the numbers behind the two claims the company builds the product on: continuous jumps higher than 20 cm, and walking that absorbs a shove of 20 N·s without falling. Uneven ground is handled up to 2 cm of step height. Power comes from a 60 V, 16 Ah pack; the end effector is a gripper, with a dexterous hand as an option. Perception is a single structured-light depth camera feeding V-SLAM, RGBD processing and 3D point-cloud learning, with HDMI and USB 3.0 left exposed for whatever a laboratory wants to add. That is the point of the machine: in October 2024 Leju released a research edition of KUAVO advertised as working out of the box, with an SDK, a simulation platform, documentation and worked examples — a humanoid meant for university and corporate research groups rather than for a shop floor. The software side runs on OpenHarmony, and Leju later tied the family to Huawei Cloud, showing the robot at Huawei's 2024 developer conference. Two cautions for readers. Leju does not publish the robot's height on its own page — Chinese secondary sources give 1.47 m, and this profile does not treat that as confirmed. The product page also survives only in the Chinese navigation; the English site no longer lists this generation, which is why the catalogue keeps it as a historical profile rather than a current offer.
