The wheeled KUAVO 5: the same humanoid torso on an omnidirectional base, trading legs for four times the endurance — eight hours, at 245 kg.
KUAVO 5-W is the wheeled sibling of Leju Robotics' fifth-generation humanoid, sold from the same product page and listed on the same specification sheet as the biped KUAVO 5. From the waist up the two machines look identical; below it, the legs are replaced by a wide omnidirectional base, and almost every number in the data sheet moves with them. The trade is stated plainly by the manufacturer. Endurance goes from at least two hours to at least eight — four times longer, which is the difference between a demonstration and a shift. Mass goes the other way: 245 kg against 63.5 kg, nearly four times heavier, because a rolling base can carry battery and ballast that legs would have to lift. Standing at full extension the robot is 2200 mm tall and 710 mm square at the base, against 1730 × 607 × 270 mm for the biped. The rest of the sheet reads like a machine built for a narrower, cheaper job. Degrees of freedom drop from 41 to 36, since the base needs none of the leg joints. Onboard compute is capped far lower — 100 to 275 TOPS, against a configuration range reaching 2070 TOPS on the biped — and perception is thinner: three depth cameras and a 2D lidar, instead of four cameras and a 3D lidar. Peak joint torque, however, goes up rather than down, to 500 N·m, and the end-effector menu is wider: a two-finger gripper, a four-finger gripper or a five-finger dexterous hand with six degrees of freedom. Each arm still lifts 5 kg. Autonomous localisation and navigation, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and openness to third-party development are the same on both. Read together, the two variants are one product line answering two different questions. The biped exists to walk into places built for people and to gather the data Leju trains on; the wheeled version exists to work a full day on a flat floor, with a cheaper computer and simpler eyes, and it is the one a factory buys by the dozen. Leju says both come off a line run to automotive-grade MVT quality rules, with ESD, EMC, chemical, electron-microscope and 3D X-ray testing. Leju does not state a walking or driving speed for the wheeled version, and does not publish a price.
