Niji 7 launched on 9 January 2026 as the newest entry in the Niji series, a separate line Midjourney develops with Spellbrush for Eastern, anime and illustrative styles. It sharply improves coherency: eyes, reflections and small background elements come out much clearer, and prompt adherence is tighter, which helps with specific designs and repeatable characters. The trade-off is deliberate — the model reads prompts more literally, so broad or atmospheric wording behaves differently than in Niji 6. Its flatter, cleaner look is designed to showcase the improved line work. Niji runs on its own site and Discord server.
