Richtech Dex

Dex is the first humanoid robot from Richtech Robotics, a Las Vegas company listed on Nasdaq that has spent four years selling single-purpose service machines - bartenders, waiters, hospital couriers, floor scrubbers. Announced on 28 October 2025 and shown publicly at CES 2026, Dex is the company's attempt to fold that catalogue into one body: it pairs the wheeled autonomous chassis developed for the Titan transport robot with the dual-arm manipulation stack built for the ADAM beverage robot. The most interesting design decision is what Dex does not have. Richtech states plainly that the robot rolls rather than walks, and defends the choice on three grounds - stability, energy efficiency and runtime. In a market where nearly every humanoid announcement leads with bipedal locomotion, a listed manufacturer arguing in public that legs are the wrong engineering trade for commercial service work is a position worth recording. The arms carry interchangeable end effectors - hands, grippers or task-specific tools - and four cameras handle perception. Compute is an NVIDIA Jetson Thor module, and Richtech says the robot's behaviours were trained in NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab before deployment. Published numbers are thin and partly contradictory. The company describes four hours of work on a charge in mobile mode, and continuous 24/7 operation when Dex is docked in a stationary configuration; the headline of the same announcement promises a full day of work, which does not agree with the body text, so both claims are recorded here as company statements rather than resolved facts. Height, mass, payload and price have never been published. Richtech's 10-K for fiscal 2025 places the launch in early 2026 and frames Dex as the platform its future products are meant to grow from.
