Cruzr 1S

Cruzr 1S is the customer-facing branch of UBTech's robot line-up. Instead of the industrial Walker humanoids or the load-carrying Cruzr S2, it puts a small humanoid upper body - head, two arms, no legs - on a self-driving wheeled base, and is sold as a cloud-based intelligent service robot for shops, hotel lobbies, showrooms and exhibition halls. The body has 15 degrees of freedom in total, with both arms wrapped in what UBTech calls a highly soft e-skin so that gestures near visitors stay safe. The head carries a display face and a 13-megapixel HD camera; a six-microphone ring array picks up speech from up to five metres away. Navigation runs on UBTech's own U-SLAM system, which the company credits with centimetre-level path planning, backed by six sensors covering 360 degrees for stereo obstacle avoidance and a time-of-flight sensor that stops the robot at stairs and drops. Hub motors with a suspension damping system are quoted as giving quiet movement. The service functions are built around a multilingual large language model: the robot greets arrivals, gives VIP welcome messages, answers questions in a sales role, and leads guided tours using an upgraded depth vision system. An automatic parade mode sends it around a floor broadcasting announcements, and it can dance and act as a promoter. It also works as an IoT hub, controlling lights, curtains, air conditioning and screens for demonstration rooms. Power management is autonomous: command, schedule and automatic charging modes, an infrared docking sensor, up to 8 hours of work on a charge and 24 hours of standby. UBTech does not publish the robot's height, weight, price or compute platform. The English and Chinese product pages describe the same machine, with one wording difference worth noting: the English page speaks of 15 high-performance servo motors, the Chinese page of 15 degrees of freedom for the whole body.
