ugo Pro is the full-specification model of the Japanese building-services robot family made by ugo Inc. of Tokyo. The fourth generation, announced on 30 November 2022 and released the following year, is what the company sells today as ugo Pro (G4). The design answers one specific problem. Most indoor patrol robots are trapped on the floor they are switched on, because lifts, card readers and light switches are built for hands. ugo Pro carries two arms on a powered lifting mast, so it can call a lift, press the button for a floor, hold a security card against a reader and strike a pose for a camera check. That single capability is why a building operator can staff several floors with one robot rather than one robot per floor. The machine stands 1,800 mm tall on a 440 x 580 mm base and weighs about 58 kg. It moves between 0.4 and 3.6 km/h and runs roughly four hours of continuous driving at its default 1.9 km/h, recharging in about two and a half. Navigation runs on a stored map with 2D LiDAR, a depth sensor, an ultrasonic sensor (disabled by default and switched on by command) and a barometric pressure sensor that estimates which floor the robot is on. Three HD cameras handle the actual work of inspection and patrol; a multicolour ring light signals status to passers-by, and a marker sensor guides the robot onto its charging station. Everything is operated through ugo Platform, the company's cloud console for managing a fleet of robots, with the live video and audio link carried over WebRTC. Communication hardware is not included: the operator supplies a wireless LAN adapter or a mobile router with a SIM for 4G or 5G. Units built from March 2025 onwards added a physical main power switch, because the internal microcontroller drains the battery slowly even when the robot is nominally off. ugo Pro sits at the top of a three-model range. Below it are ugo Ex, an armless DIY frame for patrol duty, and ugo mini, a 16 kg periscope robot for inspection rounds.
